Today, art therapy is a growing field that is widely-practiced to enhance the quality of life of individuals around the world.

Department of Counseling Psychology was established to teach the study of counseling, an applied study which observes human behavior and emotion, and improves specific intervention skills that promote positive individual changes.
Our department seeks to help individuals to deal with difficulties experienced in life areas such as home, work, and schools. Furthermore, our department’s purpose is to raise excellent professional counselors who contribute in self-realization and growth, and in the development of a healthy society.
Accordingly, our department has a systematic educational system, teaching staff with profound experience in the practical counseling field, and a network that provides practical experience to students.

• (Educational system) To develop specialized capacity in the counseling psychology field, our curriculum consists of basic courses, introduction courses, and intensified courses. Also, clinical/counseling practicum, open case presentation, special lecture/demonstration of experts, etc. are provided through collaboration with M.A. and Ph.D. courses of Clinical Counseling Psychology Graduate School and the counseling center.
• (Teaching staff) They are specialists who have worked as a professional counseling psychologist or clinical psychologist for decades in the clinical and counseling field. Teaching staff with abundant field experience provide diverse lectures and guidance in field practices.
•  (Field practice network) Clinical training opportunities are widely provided by utilizing domestic and foreign networks of Cha Medical Group. Our department supports students to acquire board certification and grow as a counselor with practical counseling abilities.

Recently, the demand for psychological counseling is growing in Korea and excellent counselors are in need. Our department’s educational system, teaching staff who are strong in the field, and field practice network will become a foundation for working as a counselor after graduation in various fields such as educational institutions, public institutions, hospitals, companies, etc.
